Barcelona Drag Queen Pardoned by Government

Three Drag Queens, a go-go dancer, a pair of hand cuffs and an eighteen year old in a Barcelona discotheque toilet. It might seem the start of a bad joke but this was the scenario that led to one of the drag queens being sentenced to 12 years in prison back in January 2006.

In a scene that is almost reminiscent of a former front man of Culture Club and a rent boy, the 18 year old had oral sex performed on him by the drag queen who denied it was aggression as the 18 year old consented despite the fact he was handcuffed at the time.

I am a great believer in doing things for the first time, I remember my first west end show, my first gay bar, my first time being offered drugs (I said no, I’m a good boy) and my first time being invited to a party by a drag queen but I have never been handcuffed in a toilet by a number of drag queens, a go-go dancer and given aggressive oral sex. I have to admit if this had happened to me it would now be forming part of my witty repartee during dinner parties rather than pressing charges but that might say more about me.

However it seems that the Spanish Government agree more with me and have pardoned the drag queen who has only served five months of his (or is it her, I never quite know the etiquette when talking about drag queens) sentence. There have been may demonstrations on behalf of the drag queen and last Friday the new Spanish cabinet decided to reduce the sentence to time already served as long as the drag queen stays out of trouble for the next ten years.
